One potential future use of solar power may be to use it to transport carbon dioxide and to clean up the oceans of dirty energy. These technologies have the potential to provide significant returns on investment, but if so, what kind of investments will they provide or how long will they take?

“One thing that I think about a lot is energy consumption. I’m not saying that we want to take that step. But whether we can reduce our carbon emissions or if we’re going to do it more slowly, this really is a new option, that’s not necessarily a good option. I think there is a lot of work to do on how to mitigate the consequences that are coming from that. We have so many different kinds of mitigation technologies.”

The Nature Communications Research Network will provide access to a wide variety of information and data on the process by which we’re generating electricity. The Nature Communications Research Network is a collaborative project between a local government agency, a company funded by the UK government and a cooperative effort of many in the energy industry.
